Department of Social Services begins Operation Fan Heat Relief on May 5th

Forsyth County Department of Social Services will begin distributing electric fans to eligible residents on Monday, May 5, 2025.

The eligibility criteria are:

1. Must be a resident of Forsyth County.
2. Be an adult age 60 yrs+ or an adult with a disability.
3. Have a home situation where a heat-related threat to health and well-being exists.

Fans will be distributed while supplies last. Customers may complete the online application or contact DSS Adult Services Intake line (336) 703-3501 for information and/or receive assistance with completing the application.
