Synopsis and Discussion
Particle pollution remains elevated and code YELLOW, Sunday, as an overnight inversion and cloudy daytime skies, have limited air mass mixing. Strong high pressure, over the NE US, will wedge into the region, Monday through Wednesday, as moisture overrides the cool dome, leading to periods of cool, light rain each day. Initially, particle pollution will be low code YELLOW, Monday, but persistent rain will eventually cleanse the air mass, resulting in a return to code GREEN, Tuesday and Wednesday (GENTRY).
